Last night was the Okanagan Wine Festivals kick off for the 2016 Okanagan Fall Wine Festival! Here's to a great week and a half of tastings and events all across the Okanagan!
Working hard here in Ottawa! These two plaques on my desk are from my days as a city councilor in Penticton, BC. No matter where I am, working for Penticton or working for Canada, the same rule follows me: Think Like A Taxpayer.
Nothing is being done about drywall tax increases! This will drive up the cost of housing by thousands of dollars, only further increasing the cost of housing in the Okanagan, Nicola, and Similkameen valleys. I am hearing daily from upset citizens and contractors alike who need action from the Liberal Government against these regulatory increases in the price of housing for Canadians.
Here's a #ThrowbackThursday #TBT to my Kung-Fu days! Here in my Ottawa office visitors and staff always ask what this is...I thought it would be a great time to show that I've still got it (and to show my West Kelowna Warriors Junior 'A' Hockey Club pride in Parliament!)
Yesterday was the Awards Ceremony at the Peachland Fall Fair! Thank you Lorraine and Martha for having me. I was more than happy to help Mayor Fortin handout the prizes and trophies to all the fantastic bakers, florists, gardeners, photographers, and more!
This past Sunday, I was happy to #WalkForHER at the Ovarian Cancer Canada Walk of Hope - Kelowna at the beatiful Mission Creek Park in Kelowna. We had some amazing speakers sharing some personal stories. Thank you to everyone who supported Ovarian Cancer Canada this weekend!

There was so much going on this weekend! On Saturday, I participated in the Parkinson SuperWalk in Kelowna's Waterfront Park! Such a great turn out. The Walk raised $50,002! So happy to have been a part of Haywire Winery's special day! The Honourable Judith Guichon, Lieutenant Governor of British Columbiapresented Haywire Winery with the 2016 Lieutenant Governor's Awards for Excellence in BC Wines. Congratulations everyone! This morning was such a great kick off for another great year at the United Way of the Central and South Okanagan / Similkameen! So glad that all these amazing Community Heroes came today to show their support!
