I have been told that there are days when you will wonder why you put your name forward for public office but that there will also be those special days when it is the most rewarding job that you could ever hope to have. Today was one of those special days. As a former member of Penticton City Council, I know firsthand what we as a council went through to ensure that one of the best indoor swimming pools in the Province was delivered not only on time but more importantly on budget. Difficult decisions had to be made and some went as far as to suggest it could not be done. Today the ribbon was cut for a truly outstanding facility that I know will serve the families of Penticton and area for many, many years to come. This was the largest project we dealt with under my term on council and I would also like to acknowledge and thank my predecessor Stockwell Day and our local MLA Bill Barisoff for their efforts to ensure this project could be delivered to the benefit of our community. Thank you to all!
