I like plants and was happy to find that my new office contained six of them. Part of what I enjoy about plants is looking after them. However I have been instructed to not water or care for them. Apparently in Ottawa, we do not look after our plants but instead we have people to look after our plants for us. Once a week on Thursday two staff members will come by to water the plants, one is the official plant water applicator and the second is security. I assume this is to ensure that the function is performed securely even though our building already has 24/7 security to gain access to the building. As you can see, I am still adjusting to everyday life here on Parliament hill.
