Here’s what’s happening this week...
in the campaign to elect Dan Albas to Penticton City Council
**Dan will be at the federal all-candidates forum the at the Penticton Golf & Country Club tomorrow, Tuesday October 7 at 5 PM sponsored by the Chamber. "I am interested in hearing the issues that local residents have as some of them may relate to local municipal issues such as crime and public safety", says Albas.
**Dan will be at the Seniors Symposium at the Penticton Trade & Convention Center Wednesday October 8th from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM to answer any questions or concerns from seniors attending the event. He will also be collecting names for a petition to keep municipal spending and taxes under control. He invites any local resident that is interested to stop by his booth and sign.
**Dan will also be attending the Premier’s Citizen’s Conservation Councils on Climate Action this Thursday, October 9th in Vancouver. He’s the only person chosen south of Westbank and will be joining other provincial delegates in addition to Premier Gordon Campbell to discuss this very important topic.
** Dan is asking all locals to attend the benefit concert at the new soccer bubble at King’s Park this Saturday, October 11th in support of local realtor and musician Frank Babakaiff who was critically injured in March of this year during vacation. Frank is a quadrapaligic and undergoing rehabilitation at the G.F. Strong Center in Vancouver. 5 local bands (including Frank’s band, Flashback) will be performing. All musicians are donating their time and music to this fundraiser. Tickets are $10 dollars at the gate and the music starts at 8 PM.
